Lead tetraacetate, also known as lead acetate (IV), is a colorless columnar crystal of lead (IV) with chemical formula Pb(C2H3O2)4.Lead tetraacetate is unstable to air and easy to decompose into lead dioxide and acetic acid when exposed to water.It is usually prepared by reacting lead tetroxide with acetic acid in the presence of acetic anhydride.
Usage
1. Use as an oxidant in acetic acid solutions.Catechol into quinone, mercaptan into disulfide, amide into isocyanate, diol into dimolecular aldehyde ketone, styrene into phenylacetaldehyde.Carboxylated hydroxyl acid halide.Acetylation of alkene, oxime, hydrazone, cyclopropane and so on.
